"You're going to sell trash?"
...Yup, that's what he
asked me.

BUT first, let me back it up a bit and tell you how he had the nerve to ask me this.

About 8 years ago, I wanted to figure out a way to make money from home with my kids at my feet and help lighten the financial load with my family

ANDDDD I found that opening a store online, would be the perfect fit.

He Said "YOU SOLD TRASH?"

  Yep, wood blocks!

It was the perfect scenario.

BUT everything I was reading said I had to have a massive inventory and a lot of money

Well, guess what? I didn't have any money and didn't have a massive inventory. So I decided to start out small and use what I had...at my house. I actually found it behind my shed. It was this piece of wood and I chopped it down into little tiny blocks.

"Alison, what are you doing?"

I started taking pictures of the blocks of wood to put on my website, and my neighbor comes over, and he said, "Alison, what are you doing?"

"I'm going to sell blocks of wood," I replied really, really, really excitedly.

And he said, "You're going to sell trash?"

What? No! No, no, no.

He saw trash.

What I saw: I saw moms getting together with their kids and gluing pictures of their faces on blocks of wood, putting a big bow around it, and giving it to grandma for Christmas.

I saw little tiny toddler chubby fingers turning the countdown down to zero in anticipation of the next holiday, their birthday, or Santa Claus coming. That's what I saw.
So I went out, and I sold those blocks of wood, and within 24 hours, it generated over $9,000.

Yes, Over $9,000

It worked. I was able to sell the vision.

He saw trash. I saw a vision, and it sold.
Now if you are thinking that I'm super creative...wanna know the secret? Pinterest gave me ideas. It's the creative brain all bundled up for your convenience to use.

Selling products online doesn't need to be complicated. Learning to use what you already have...like a block of wood is as simple as it can get. I sold these naked blocks of wood. Nothing was on them and I made enough to pay off my minivan.

What if YOU are
sitting on a chunk
of change that will

start your story?

But, Alison...

You may be thinking that it's a great story, BUT
how in the world could you do that with the economy today?

Rumor is that 'non-essentials' like blocks of wood will not sell with the uncertainty in the world.

I get it, but you know what they say about rumors....

Let me tell you the truth.
Some of my students are having their highest selling times now because there is less 'noise' online.  While most people are getting sucked into their social media feeds and binging on Netflix, my students are stepping up and serving their customers.

As brick-and-mortar businesses are closing down, customers are looking for a place to buy things that bring back the 'normal' to life. Holidays are still happening, birthdays are still being celebrated, and gifts are still being given AND they are looking to buy from you.

Meet Bev.  Bev sells jewelry.  Jewelry is considered 'non-essential' at this time.
In March 2020 when the virus swept the world, Bev served her customers with jewelry.

Bev ended up having her biggest sales month ever and she's not slowing down in April.

Laura reached out to me and told me that  March was her highest gross sales ever with over $16,000.  She is selling 'non-essentials'.

The money is impressive, right?  But look at what it's providing.  Peace.  Her husband may lose his job, but they know they've built a safety net of income.

Starting and building your business can bring peace and safety in a world that seem so unsure.

The government is not shutting down online businesses.

Clothing

Megan owns a clothing boutique and sold 200 orders in the last two days.

Jewelry

Olivia will hit her highest month in March with what’s considered a ‘non-essential’ item of jewelry.

T-Shirts

Olive is having one of her biggest months selling t-shirts that are termed ‘saturated’

Newbie

Amy started Mid-March 2020 and had sales her first week of launching.
